Udalguri DC urged media not to publish sensitive news in a hurry


The new Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district,Thaneswar Malakar addressed the media persons of the district at a press meet on November 12 at DC's Conference Hall.The new DC has taken over charge from Kulen Talukdar, ADC, Udalguri on November 8 recently.On the occasion DC Malakar recalled his close association with print media and assured the press that he would ensure transparent and neutral administration in the district.He also thankfully acknowledge the contribution made by former Deputy Commissioner of the district SS Meenakshi Sundaram,IAS (now posted in Tinsukia district)for implementing a few important schemes in the field of science and technology for children,conservation of nature and wild life,education,arrangement of first Book Fair cum Science Exhibition in the district,introduction of Excellence Awards and said that he would continue all the programmes.

The new DC further said that his main task would be to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the district by taking public opinion in to confidance.Moreover regular meetings with various social organizations namely-ABSU,AASU,AJYCP,AAGSU etc for creating awareness among people so as to remove blind believe and superstition etc from the society.He requested media persons not to publish sensitive news items in a hurry.The press meet was also addresed by Kulen Talukdar,ADC,Udalguri;B.Das,District Election Officer,Udalguri. Jayanta Kumar Das,Narayan Deka,Gautamjyoti Talukdar,Dhiren Barua etc
in their speeches welcomed DC Thaneswar Malakar and assured him all possible help and cooperation.
