Aids distributed to poor in Udalguri


Udalguri,December 20:Grants-in-Aids distributed ceremonially amongst the beneficiaries of Udalguri District on December 18 under various schemes specially chief Minister’s  Asom Vikash Yogana, C.M’s Anna Surkha yogana, Majoni, Maram, Nabow, Naboyari etc. Total 14 departments distributed Grants-in-aid amongst the 2000 beneficiaries in a meeting organized by the Udalguri District Administration.Rihon Daimari, Hon’ble Minister, PHE, Assam attended the distributing ceremony  as the chief guest. In his speech Minister Daimari spoke about the schemes of the present Congress-BPF Government  and urged the people for the proper implementation of the schemes. He announced that Udalguri will be connected with the National Highway and an amount of Rs.47 crore had been sanctioned in this regard. He further said that the 100 bedded Hospital, Jail and Session Court of Udalguri would be inaugurated in the month of January,2011. The Minister formally distributed the grants-in-aid. Prior to attending the meeting Hon’ble Minister offered floral  tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Mandop of  DC’s Office premises.Maheswar Boro, MLA, Kalaigaon LAC attended the ceremony as the guest of honour while Kartick Ch. Boro, MCLA of Harisinga,Jagadish Sarkar, MCLA of Mudaibari,Pradeep Kr. Daimari, MCLA of Bhairabkunda and Vikram Singh Basumatari, Chairman, Udalguri Town Committee attended the meeting as distinguished guests. Thaneswar Malakar, DC, Udalguri presided over the meeting.More than three thousand people attend the ceremony.
