Government appoints 20 Honorary Wildlife Wardens in Assam

Government of Assam has appointed twenty Honorary Wildlife Wardens in the state (Vide Govt. Notification No.FRW.4/2007/50,dtd 21/6/2012).The primary responsibility of the Honorary Wildlife Wardens will be to assist the administration on all aspects relating to wildlife in their respective areas of activities. The Honorary Wildlife Wardens in particular assist the Divisional Forest Officers on the following- (1) Enforcement of Wildlife Protection Act,1972. (2) Prevention of Cruelty Animals Act,1960.(3)Creating awareness among the local population on wildlife matters.(4)Issues relating to the inter-face between wildlife and people ,specially in respect of National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. They will also keep the Chief Wildlife Warden and the State Environment & Forest Department suitably informed of important developments in their areas. The new Honorary Wildlife Wardens are- 1.Ram Ranjan Chakravorty (Silchar); 2.Amit Ranjan Das (Hailakandi); 3.Phwjwngsar Narzary (Baksa);4. GM Choudhury (Karimganj); 5.PC Jidang (NC Hills); 6.Tapan Kumar Sharma (Nagaon); 7.Rabindra Teron (Diphu); 8.Dilip Chetri Guwahati); 9.Debojit Deori (Sibasagar); 10.Shanta Sharma (Jorhat);11.Premjit Narzary (Chirang); 12.Arup Ballav Goswami (Golaghat); 13.Kishore Talukdar (Kamrup); 14.Kaushik Baruah (Guwahati); 15.Balu Ram Gogoi (Lakhimpur); 16.Parag Jyoti Deka (Guwahati); 17.Jugal Saikia (Sonitpur),18.Hitendra Nath Sarma (Tinsukia); 19.Gunadhar Konwar (Tinsukia); 20.Jayanta Kumar Das (Udalguri).
