Python rescued

A python weighing 15 Kg and 13 feet long has been rescued by tea garden workers at Kalaigaon on October 16.According to information tea garden workers of Singrimari TE noticed the python in Bholabari section near Kalaigaon town in the morning hours while working in the garden.The python was sleeping under a tea bush.Tea garden authority reported the matter to Kalaigaon police station. The Honorary Wildlife Warden,Udalguri and Range Officer of Nonai arranged for the rescue of the python unhurt. Accordingly Himangshu Gohain,SI,Kalaigaon police station, forest officials Sanatan Das and Lachit Boro rescued it unhurt. Later it was released in Khalingduar Reserve Forest near Indo-Bhutan border, It needs mention that several such pythons and other reptiles had been washed away during recent flood in the district. President of Green Society,Udalguri thanked the people responsible for the safe rescue of the python and requested all kindly to inform police or forest when ever such wild animals are seen anywhere in the district.
